It doesn’t surprise me at all if you tell me “Vietnamese language is too hard to learn.” I would tell you that Vietnamese is not only too hard to learn but also too hard to teach. Not every Vietnamese with excellent English can be a good Vietnamese teacher. Not every teacher who teaches English can teach Vietnamese well. Being a full-time Vietnamese teacher, having taught over ten thousand hours is the most precious gift in my career. My hands-on experience teaching expats and Việt Kiều (overseas Vietnamese) make me understand how you learn. I feel how hard every learner struggles in learning Vietnamese but the result, unfortunately, is bitter when they realized that they have made no progress. I am not here to say “Vietnamese is easy” because it is not, but the learning process is just simply learning the method. We teach the way you learn.
